Installing
On a Mac
- Open the downloaded .dmg
- Drag Broome into Applications
- Launch it and sign in with your browser
On Windows beta
- Run the downloaded installer
- SmartScreen will ask — the beta is unsigned. Click More info → Run anyway
- Launch Broome and sign in with your browser

Before you install.
Which Mac build do I need?
Apple menu → About This Mac. "Apple M1/M2/M3/M4" means Apple silicon; an Intel processor name means the Intel build. This page also detects it from your browser — the button under the headline is already your best match.
Is the app safe to open?
The macOS builds are Developer ID-signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled — Gatekeeper verifies them before the first launch. The Windows beta is not signed yet, which is why SmartScreen asks for an extra click; that is expected during the beta.
Where do my files live?
In a real folder on your computer, synced with your Broome workspace. Files are yours and stay on disk — the app keeps the two sides matching.
Does it work offline?
Yes — the folder is local, so your files are always there. Changes sync the next time you are online.
How do updates work?
During the beta, new versions ship on this page — download and replace the app. The version you are offered here is always the newest release.
